eet former college basketball player, LaToya Cunningham!
LaToya graduated from La Jolla Country Day (05) as a decorated tri-sport athlete. Upon graduating from Country Day, Coach Toya received an athletic scholarship to play basketball at the University of Miami (Fla). Coach Toya hit the ground running in Coral Gables (Fla), displaying her three-point prowess, defensive versatility, and innate ability to drop dimes to her teammates.

Coach Toya graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Administration (2009) and was fortunate to pursue a professional playing career in Europe for a team called the Bad Aibling Fireballs, based in Germany. Coach Toya is a Country Day alumni, meaning she was coached by one of the greatest high school basketball coaches of all time, Terri Bamford in San Diego, CA. Coach Bamford gave Toya her first coaching opportunity. Since 2013, Coach Toya has been and still is coaching in the San Diego Waves program that serves age groups 9-18.
In 2015, Over the years she has developed a reputation as one of San Diego’s up and coming skills development coaches for girls/boys.
